Intro
AZ jewellery inspired by nature, designed to make you beautiful. This inspired jewellery range is the brain child of Antonia Zacharia who's vision is to create jewellery which does not harm the environment. Antonia says " Even though most people in the world wear some kind of jewellery in their life, extremely few of them are aware of the consequences of the jewellery they wear has for our planet". Did you know that the average gold ring causes 20 tonnes of waste in its production? Similarly, did you know that many of the worlds diamonds are mined by under aged children? and their profits used to find illegal wars and terrorist activities?
My Story
Antonia was born and raised in North London, the daughter of Greek parents. From childhood Antonia was inspired by her father, an Art teacher, who produced works of Art using recycled materials from skips and junk. Antonia inherited the same passion to recycle and reinvent materials in creating jewellery. As a child she would sit for hours in the garden and in green spaces drawing butterflies in motion and flowers in blossom. Antonia has always believed that creativity is fundamental to the human condition. Creating her jewellery Antonia has always expressed her own intense personal relationship with a natural worlds she so dearly loves. To create in this way is not only to express ones inner feelings about life but a way of healing one self. In every design and handcrafted piece by Antonia, has expressed her unconditional love for the very earth from where she makes her jewellery come from. Her creative journey lives the life's of all of us where it begins with the Earth and finally returns there. |
